Palatine police release traffic safety campaign results

Palatine police have announced results from a traffic safety crackdown that covered roughly a week around the Independence Day holiday.

Officers issued 81 seat belt citations, made four DUI arrests and wrote 38 tickets for illegal mobile device use by a driver. In addition, four drug-related arrests were made.

About 150 other police agencies across the state participated in the traffic safety campaign across Illinois, officials said.
