Man killed in single-vehicle crash near Huntley

A 57-year-old Amboy man died Tuesday night after his pickup truck crashed into a tree near Huntley, authorities said.

The McHenry County coroner's office Thursday identified the driver as David J. Considine. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The single-vehicle crash occurred about 9:05 p.m. in the 14100 block of Harmony Road, according to a news release from the McHenry County sheriff's office. Officials said a 2016 Ford F350 was traveling west when it left the north side of the road for unknown reasons and struck a tree.

Considine was taken to Centegra Hospital-Huntley, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities said he was wearing a seat belt and the air bags deployed.

The sheriff's office's Major Traffic Crash Investigation Unit and the McHenry County coroner's office are investigating.
