Killeen in line for U of Illinois performance bonus

URBANA, Ill. (AP) - University of Illinois President Timothy Killeen is in line to receive a performance bonus this year though the amount is not yet set.

The agenda for Thursday's university trustees meeting includes an item listed as "improve pay-for-performance" compensation for Killeen. University spokesman Tom Hardy tells The News-Gazette in Champaign (http://bit.ly/2bVcedq ) that trustees generally meet in closed session over such items and review the president's performance.

Under the terms of Killeen's contract he is paid $600,000 a year and can receive a performance bonus of up to $100,000 for what Hardy called mutually agreed-upon goals.

Killeen finished his first year on the job in May.
