Police: Monticello man run over by own tractor, dies
MONTICELLO, Ind. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the death of a north central Indiana man who apparently was run over by his own tractor.
The White County Sheriff's Office says 62-year-old Jerry Zerth of Monticello was believed to be mowing grass when the incident occurred Friday evening
It says deputies responded to a call reporting a man lying in a rural ditch and a tractor with no driver moving through a field. It says a passerby reported seeing Zerth get run over by the tractor while Zerth was lying in the ditch. Another passerby stopped the tractor and shut it off.
WLFI-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2aC1rjo ) investigators believe Zerth fell from the tractor, and the tractor continued to move.
The incident remains under investigation.
