Prospect to host charity event Saturday

Prospect High School, the 2019 Mid-Suburban League East wrestling champion, will be hosting its annual Team Maddux Freestyle Wrestling Tournament Saturday, which benefits the Ann and Robert Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.

Prospect High School is located at 801 W. Kensington Road in Mount Prospect.

Knights head coach Tom Whalen said last year's event, which featured wrestlers at junior, cadets and kids levels, raised close to $4,000.

The four-man, round-robin tournament begins with weigh-ins at 8 a.m., which will run for one hour, with competition scheduled to start at 10 a.m.

Entry fee is $25, with admission at $5, with all of the proceeds going directly to the Lurie Children's Hospital.
