Arlington Heights police to conduct checkpoint Oct. 29

The Arlington Heights Police Department will conduct a roadside safety checkpoint Oct. 29, in conjunction with the Illinois Department of Transportation's "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign for Halloween.

The checkpoint will be on Arlington Heights Road south of Algonquin Road. Officers will cite drivers who are not buckled up, appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or who commit other traffic-related offenses.

The campaign is sponsored by the Illinois Department of Transportation - Bureau of Safety Programs and Engineering.
