Roadside safety check in Kane County

Illinois State Police District 15 will conduct a roadside safety check in Kane County during the late evening hours of Friday, Oct. 2, until the early morning hours of Saturday, Oct. 3, on the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88) on the ramp from I-88 to Route 31.

Officers working this detail will be watchful for drivers who are operating vehicles in an unsafe manner, driving with a suspended or revoked driver's license, transporting open alcoholic beverages or driving under the influence.

In 2018, alcohol was involved in 27% of the 951 fatal crashes that occurred on Illinois roadways, officials said. Roadside safety checks are designed to keep our roads safe by taking dangerous DUI offenders off the road. This project is funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
