Lake County fills key administrative posts

Lake County filled two key administrative posts Tuesday and appointed an interim director for a third.

Chris Blanding was hired as chief information technology officer to begin June 26. Rodney Worden, will start as director of public works effective Aug. 21. Both spots have been unfilled for six months.

Blanding, information officer for the Journal Media Group in Milwaukee, will be paid a $175,000 base salary. Worden, director of U.S. Africa Command in Stuttgart, Germany, will be paid $165,000.

Also, the county board designated Assistant County Engineer Al Giertych as acting chief as of July 1. He'll fill in for the retiring Paula Trigg.
