Carpentersville police: Two crashes occurred within minutes at Huntley, Randall roads
Three people were injured Thursday afternoon in one of two consecutive traffic accidents at the same Carpentersville intersection, Police Chief Michael Kilbourne said.
The first two-vehicle crash, which occurred at Randall and Huntley roads at 12:16 p.m., resulted in one of the vehicles rolling over with entrapment, Kilbourne said.
Three people were taken to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injures, he said, and the crash remains under investigation.
The second crash occurred at 12:27 p.m., when a semitrailer rolled into a passenger car that was stopped at the intersection, Kilbourne said. No injuries were reported, he said, though the driver of the semitrailer will be cited for a traffic violation.
Sections of Huntley and Randall roads were closed temporarily, police said, but the scene was clear by 1:05 p.m.
