Learn about snowy owls at program in Libertyville
Snowy owls will be the topic of the Lake County Audubon Society meeting from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Libertyville village hall, 118 W. Cook Ave.
Featured speaker John Engel will discuss the arrival of thousands of snowy owls into the northern tier of states, including the Chicago area, from their tundra breeding grounds. Engel organizes and leads birding tours around Illinois, the U.S. and worldwide and has conducted research for The Field Museum.
