Roofer dead following 20-foot fall in West Lafayette
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say a 33-year-old roofer has died after falling 20 feet from atop a two-story apartment building.
The Lafayette Journal & Courier (http://on.jconline.com/2q6tOj8 ) reports Tippecanoe County Coroner Donna Avolt identified the man as Alberto Dominguez of Indianapolis.
Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Sgt. Matthew Couch said Dominguez was pronounced dead at the scene of the fall Thursday morning.
Couch says Dominguez was wearing his safety harness but the safety rope had been removed from the harness.
He says none of Dominguez's four co-workers at an Indianapolis-based roofing company saw the fall.
