Guard Ashley Kelsick joins Wisconsin women's basketball

MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Guard Ashley Kelsick has joined the Wisconsin women's basketball team after transferring from Boston College.
Kelsick will have two-and-a-half years of eligibility with the Badgers. The Big Ten school made the announcement Wednesday.
The 5-foot-7 native of Palmdale, California, played 30 games for the Eagles last season, starting 24. She was named the team's defensive player of the year after leading BC in steals per game with 46 (1.5 per game).
Kelsick has not played this season but will be immediately eligible to practice. Her career will resume in January 2017 after she serves a year in residence.
