Elgin Area League of Women Voters cancels Kane County Sheriff candidate forum

The League of Women Voters of the Elgin Area announced that the candidate forum for Kane County Sheriff, scheduled for Oct. 13 at the Rakow Center in Carpentersville, has been canceled.

Both incumbent Sheriff Ron Hain (D) and challenger Jeffrey Bodin (R) agreed to participate in the forum, but Bodin has since withdrawn from the forum with no explanation.

Hain will instead be allowed to make a 2-minute candidate statement, which will be posted soon on www.lwvelginarea.org.
