Youthquake Unites Young Conservatives and Liberals
Youthquake is a civics program that seeks to combat political polarization and fosters civic consciousness amongst Chicago area high school students of diverse political affiliations. Our inaugural cohort of students recently completed the program in June, as sponsored by the Davis Projects for Peace foundation. Each group of politically diverse students developed a bipartisan policy plan on a community issue, such as racial disparities in juvenile incarceration and school shootings, through deliberations, dialogues, and simulated negotiation sessions.
