Therm Flo moving 100 employees from Wheeling to Buffalo Grove

Buffalo Grove trustees have approved variations that will allow Therm Flo Inc. to develop a new 40,437-square-foot office and warehouse building at 875 Busch Parkway in the Corporate Grove industrial park.

Therm Flo Inc. has outgrown its facility in Wheeling and has chosen to expand on the approximately 4.3-acre site that is vacant.

The building will be developed for two users: Therm Flo Inc. and its sister company Zonatherm Products.

Therm Flo Inc. designs, sells and services heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems and generators, specifically for commercial data centers. Zonatherm Products is a distributor of backup power systems.

Community Development Director Christopher Stilling said the company will be bringing with it approximately 100 new employees.

Approval of the variations was recommended by the planning and zoning commission. One was to allow driveway apron width to to exceed the maximum of 35 feet better accommodate truck turns. Stilling said the turning radius variation is likely to become part of the village code in the future.

That idea got support from Trustee Steven Trilling.

"One thing I can't stand is seeing a truck jump over the curb and destroy the landscaping," he said.
