Being the president of Coon Creek Days I have developed a strong relationship with many of the community leaders, as well as many of the residents and business.I feel that I can help this community greatly with new ideas, many suggestions on how to grow to its full potential. What is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales and property taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.the local sales taxes are in line with towns villages similar to Hampshire. Property taxes are another issue, they never are going to go down, we need to figure a way so that the taxes do not increase too much that it will force residents to leave the village. Again perhaps an increase in business can hold the line on tax increase's.Rate the efficiency of your town's police and fire coverage. Are the departments well prepared for the next decade? What, if anything, should be changed? Do you have specific public safety concerns?being the President of Coon Creek Day's for the last 4 years, I can't say enough great things about both the Police Fire departments. I have a great relationship with them. They work very hard doing their jobs, and react very quickly when they are needed, and we've never had a problem with any of the personal on either department. Both departments are very responsive to the residents when needed and also help in many charity events. I do know that when the village has any type of growth, then, yes we will need to increase both departments, in personal and equipment. I'm all about the safety of the residents in HampshireWhere, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?the budget is a very difficult item to work with. Right now, we need to address the repairs on many of our side streets, and the condition of our water infrastructure needs to be reviewed so that we as a village have enough safe water to use. What is one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?i really believe that to draw more people to the Village of Hampshire to do a couple of things. My first thought would be to have some sort of survey for the residents and see what they are looking for. Why do they live here, what did they expect when they moved here, what do they like, what don't they like.i also believe it would help Hampshire if we could develop a "destination" of some sort to have people/business come to our town. What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?one of my main concerns in the village is the item of traffic control. We need to make sure all our roads are as safe as possible for our residents, and in working order especially as our community continues to grow. I also again, would like to see additional business come to townPlease name one current leader who most inspires you.I kind of like Warren Buffett. I think he's a remarkable man, he has accomplished many things in his life and cares for othersWhat is the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?Being Italian and growing up at home with 3 other brothers, I learned that staying close to your family is very important. If life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?knowing what I know today, I would of tried to get into some sort of public office sooner. I think I can make a differenceWhat was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?i really enjoyed Math. I'm a numbers type of guy, and I think math is will always be a great asset to haveIf you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?I always tell my children to stick to your values and what you believe in. Don't let others influence you or change how you feel
