Three hospitalized after crash on Lake-Cook Road in Deer Park

Three people were hospitalized after a head-on crash Monday morning in Deer Park that closed down a stretch of Lake-Cook Road.

The crash happened just before 10:13 a.m. east of Lake-Cook's intersection with Ela Road, according to officials.

Lake Zurich fire Capt. David Santoyo said four people were injured in the crash but one declined to be taken to a hospital.

One vehicle had a driver and two passengers and the other vehicle had no passengers, Santoyo said, adding that first responders did not need to extricate anyone from the wreck.

A section of the busy road was closed until around 11 a.m. while first responders cleared the debris. The cause of the crash is being investigated by the Lake County sheriff's office.
