Elmhurst cops investigating burglaries

Elmhurst police are investigating several home burglaries that took place between 2 and 4 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, on the city's southside.

In each case it appears the burglar entered unlocked houses while the residents were asleep and stole wallets and purses.

Police said the burglaries were reported on the 400 block of Prairie and the 400 block of Poplar. An attempted burglary was reported on the 200 block of South Street.

Police say they've increased patrols in the area, but are urging residents to make sure their doors are locked and that their motion sensor lights are activated before going to bed.
