Gurnee village board candidate ends campaign
Gurnee village trustee candidate Joshua Amann is dropping out of the race, narrowing a crowded field seeking three seats on the village board.
In an email Monday to the Daily Herald, Amann said he is ending his campaign because of new responsibilities at work.
"It is bittersweet, as this is a position I have wanted for a long time, but with the new hours I will be working I would not be able to give my all to Gurnee as I had hoped," he wrote.
Amann's departure leaves seven candidates seeking the three four-year terms at stake in the April 2 election.
The field includes incumbent trustees Greg Garner, Michael Jacobs and Cheryl Ross; and challengers Matthew Duray, Ryan Horath, Quin O'Brien and Jamie Seaton.
