Construction begins at Route 14-Hart Road in Barrington

Construction has started on an improvement project at Route 14/Northwest Highway and Hart Road in Barrington.

The project will upgrade safety operations of the at-grade railroad crossing on Hart Road and improve the intersection. Lake County Division of Transportation officials say other work will include turn lanes on north- and southbound Hart Road, sidewalk improvements, a multiuse path and traffic signal upgrades.

According to the latest project timelines, lane closures are to begin in the area this week.
