New video board planned for Rosemont softball stadium

Rosemont's softball stadium will get a new video board this spring, village officials said.

The village will pay Brookings, South Dakota-based Daktronics $240,000 to replace the field-facing board, for which it became difficult to find replacement parts, according to Mayor Brad Stephens.

The video board on the opposite side, facing the Tri-State Tollway, will remain in use for now, but Stephens said it would likely be replaced in the next year or two. The agreement with Daktronics includes a $10,000 credit for that work.

The 2,000-seat stadium, home to the Chicago Bandits, opened in June 2011.
