Police: 2 found dead in Gary and there appears to be link

GARY, Ind. (AP) - Police say two bodies have been found at separate locations in Gary and there appears to be a connection between them.

An unidentified woman was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound on Saturday morning. An unidentified man was found dead later in the afternoon at another location.

Police spokesman Dawn Westerfield says in a statement, "there does appear to be a connection between the two victims." She did not elaborate.

She says the investigation is at an early stage and anyone in the public with information is urged to call the Lake County Metro homicide unit.
