Deadline extended for St. Charles Electric Christmas Parade

The deadline for entry in the St. Charles Electric Christmas Parade has been extended through Wednesday, Oct. 31. The parade steps off on Main Street at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24

Completed forms should be returned to the Downtown St. Charles Partnership office in the St. Charles Municipal Building no later than 4 p.m.

Businesses, nonprofits and organizations that would like to enter the parade may do so by completing and returning the parade entry form, a certificate of insurance and an entry fee.

The application fee is $275 for businesses, $150 for Downtown St. Charles Partnership members and $25 for nonprofits. Certificates of insurance must name the Downtown St. Charles Partnership and the City of St. Charles as additional insured on or before Oct. 31, 2018.

The two-day Holiday Homecoming event kicks off at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, with Lighting of the Lights on the First Street Plaza. Then, on Saturday, Nov. 24, there will be a screening of the holiday movie "Home Alone" at the Arcada Theatre at 10 a.m., sleigh rides and visits with Santa on the First Street Plaza beginning at 1 p.m. See the live holiday window displays from 1 to 5 p.m. along Main and First streets. The day culminates with the Electric Christmas Parade. All Holiday Homecoming events and activities are free.

Santa's House will open from 1 to 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 24 until Dec. 23.

The Electric Christmas Parade features bands, parade floats and Santa Claus. The event is organized by the Downtown St. Charles Partnership and made possible by sponsorship support, including Presenting Sponsor Fox Valley Auto Group.
