COD to host trip to Field Museum

The College of DuPage is sponsoring a trip to the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago on Saturday, March 18, that's free and open to the public.

A bus will leave the school's Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd., at 8:45 a.m. and return by 3:30 p.m. Participants will meet before 8:45 a.m. at the main entrance near the college's cafeteria in the Student Resource Center.

During the program, sponsored by the COD Native American Studies Committee, participants will learn about Native American and Hawaiian culture and history through a docent-led guided tour of the Field Museum's extensive Native American and Hawaiian collections. The visit includes free time to have lunch and explore other areas of the museum.

Seating for the trip is limited. To register, potential attendees must submit their name and a $10 cash deposit to Professor John Paris in the Berg Instructional Center, Room 2626F, by Wednesday, March 15. Deposits will be returned on the day of the trip.

For details, call Paris at (630) 942-2064 or visit parisj@cod.edu.
