Boys golf: Calbi in command at Wheeling's invitational
Barrington's Tom Calbi was in a league of his own in Saturday's Wheeling boys golf invitational.
He fired a course-record 65 at Chevy Chase Country Club, and his 7-under round was 6 strokes better than runner-up Jackson Bussell of Stevenson and third-place Mike Bertke of St. Charles East.
Calbi had plenty of support from his teammates, too, as Barrington rolled to the team title with 290.
Loyola Academy (304) was second, followed by St. Charles East (307), Lake Forest (308) and Prospect. Stevenson (313) was sixth, and Libertyville (317) and Rolling Meadows (318) also cracked the top 10.
Barrington's Sean Dolan was fourth, in a group of four including Prospect's Robert Garmoe who came in at 73.
The Broncos had another top-10 individual, Tim Lim (74). He finished ninth.
