IRS scam alert

Round Lake Park Police Chief Goerge Filenko says his department is receiving an increased number of reports about residents being targeted with Internal Revenue Service scams on the telephone. He wants residents to be alert about the scheme and said the IRS recommends hanging up immediately if a caller claims to be from the agency and demands money. Filenko said the IRS does not make telephone calls to seek payments.
