Daughter Supports Dad's Dream to Carry on Family Business in Hoffman Estates

Cobi Himmelfarb, the owner/operator of the new Culver's restaurant in Hoffman Estates never considered a career in the world of quick service restaurants. Her family owns Culver's restaurants in Schaumburg and Woodstock, so she occasionally worked in the restaurant during college with little interest in being involved in the business.

However that all changed when her father, Barry Himmelfarb was diagnosed with cancer three years ago. Cobi knew that her father's dream was to keep their restaurants in the family. With his health issues and plans to open another location in Hoffman Estates in the future, Cobi felt compelled to find a way to support her father's dream.

When Cobi told her father that she was willing and interested in exploring the possibility of becoming a Culver's franchise owner/operator, her father was thrilled beyond words.

In April 2016, Cobi completed Culver's franchisee training program at its headquarters in Prairie du Sac, WI. On November 8, 2016, Cobi opened the restaurant in Hoffman Estates with her proud father at her side.

There's another great ending to this story….Cobi's father was able to beat cancer, and is now cancer free. He's back doing what he loves best…managing and working in the family business.
