Barrington's White House to present storytelling event

Barrington's White House and the Barrington Cultural Commission are pleased to present another free cultural event as a part of the online series, Virtual Arts and Culture.

The Barrington Cultural Commission will present a storytelling event Thursday, Nov. 5, and they are looking for submissions of short stories that reflect the theme "Taking chances. When risking it all paid off ... or didn't."

They are asking "tellers" to submit a synopsis of their story to pamweinert@gmail.com by Oct. 14 for consideration.

The rules are as follows: The story must be true, it must have been your own experience, needs to be on topic, no more than five minutes in length, and no political content.

Selected storytellers will be given a time slot to present their story at Barrington's White House, which will be filmed with a small, socially distanced audience at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28. The video will then be streamed at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5.

To view this free virtual event, register at www.barringtonswhitehouse.com/events. After registering, you will receive a link to watch the stream.
