Springbrook Golf Course to Host May 26 Grand Reopening of Range and Practice Facility

Golfers are invited to the grand reopening of the new range and practice facility at Springbrook Golf Course on Friday, May 26. The event will include contests and prize drawings from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and food and beverage specials and discounts on range balls all day long.

"Between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. our PGA professionals will be administering a skills challenge on the new practice green and short game area," explained Kevin Carlson, superintendent of golf operations. "Prizes will be awarded for the closest chip or fewest putts."

The goals of the project were to expand and improve the driving range tee and practice green, add another chipping green and improve the overall traffic flow of the first tee and practice areas. The renovations to the range and practice area took place last fall, with the expectation that the turf would grow in gradually this spring. After a mild winter and good spring weather, the turf has had a chance to fill in enough to mow.

The new practice green, range tee and chipping green will open toward the end of May, weather permitting.

"Golfers and our staff are very excited about the new features, and are eager to see them open up," said Carlson. "We have been very pleased with the project, and feel it will provide our customers an excellent place to improve their game. We are especially thankful for the patience our customers have shown during construction last fall, and during the growth of the turf this spring. We expect they will be pleased with the results."
