Kashima, Suwon reach Asian Champions League quarterfinals

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - Kashima Antlers and Suwon Samsung Bluewings took the final two spots in the quarterfinals of the Asian Champions League on Wednesday.

Kashima eliminated Chinese club Shanghai SIPG 4-3 on aggregate despite losing 2-1 in the second leg. Brazil forward Hulk scored both goals for Shanghai, but Shoma Doi put one in for the visiting team.

In an all-South Korean match, Suwon beat Ulsan Hyundai Horangi 3-0 to advance 3-1 on aggregate. Kim Gun-hee scored two goals in the first half and Waguininho added the third late in the game.

Besides Kashima and Suwon, Tianjin Quanjian and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors also advanced from the East region. From the West, the four quarterfinalists are Persepolis, Al-Sadd, Esteghlal and Al-Duhail.
