Boys soccer: Franklin's hat trick carries St. Edward

AJ Franklin scored a hat trick Friday to lead the St. Edward boys soccer team to a 4-3 nonconference win over Rockford East at Greg True Field in Elgin.

Uriel Carachure scored the Green Wave's other goal while Josh Johansen, Zach Olenek, Alec Uscila and Emilio Martinez had assists. Evan Sajtar made 5 saves in goal to notch the win for St. Edward (3-0).

Cary-Grove 1, Grant 0: Isaiah Glaysher scored the game's only goal to give Cary-Grove its first win of the season at the Grant tournament. Teddy Price had 4 saves in goal for the Trojans (1-3-1).
