Elmhurst Historical Museum celebrates beer
When it comes to classic taste combinations, beer goes with just about everything, from the basics like chili and brats, to higher-end fare like cheese fondue and decadent chocolate desserts.
The Elmhurst Historical Museum is teaming up with Pints in Elmhurst and Lagunitas Brewing Company to prove that beer pairs well with more than just pretzels during a Lagunitas Small Plate and Beer Pairing at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at Pints, 112 S. York St., Elmhurst.
Participants will sample delectable small plates paired with different Lagunitas beers, and learn why the combinations work so well together.
The cost is $15 for members of the Elmhurst Heritage Foundation and $18 for nonmembers and includes four appetizers and four 5-oz. Lagunitas craft beer samples.
Participants must be 21 and older with photo ID. Preregistration required and available online only at www.elmhursthistory.org (in the Adult Programs section).
The program is presented in conjunction with the Elmhurst Historical Museum's exhibit "Beer Chicago: The Refreshing History," open through Sunday, Feb. 14. Museum hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Tuesday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; 1 to 8 p.m. Third Thursdays.
General admission and limited on-site parking are free. For the latest exhibit and program information, like the museum's Facebook page, visit www.elmhursthistory.org or call (630) 833-1457.
