No injuries in fire at Lake Forest day care

No injuries were reported after a small fire Wednesday morning at a Lake Forest day care center.

Firefighters responded to the fire at Dearhaven Child Care and Learning Center, 1100 N. Westmoreland Road, shortly before 9 a.m. All of the children were evacuated and relocated to a nearby business, according to a news release Thursday.

Upon their arrival firefighters found light smoke coming from the first-floor kitchenette. A sprinkler extinguished the fire, which was contained to a cardboard box. Damage was estimated at $5,000.
