Letter: Lies in the mail

It was apparently too much to hope that the Republicans in Illinois would not stoop to the lies and deceit that Republicans are resorting to in other states. The fake newspaper North Cook News hides its deception by abusing our respect for freedom of the press. The letter that citizens are now receiving regarding threats to our electoral process reflects a concerted effort by the Republican Party to undermine trust in our own government agencies and officials. Even Republican office holders, like those overseeing the Georgia elections, are not immune to the subversion that is being fed into the system. I hope that when ballots are filled out in November, that the citizens of Illinois say no to the party that supported the Jan. 6 insurrection and continues to undermine our democracy with lies, big and little.
