Boys golf: Victory for Wichlin, Grayslake Central

Zach Wichlin's 42 earned him medalist honors and led host Grayslake Central (171) to a victory over Grant in Northern Lake County Conference boys golf play Thursday.

The Rams got 43s from Cooper Brunk, Alec Novak and Jack Brown.

Grant (209) received matching 51s from Nate Gladfelter and Ben Truss.

Grayslake North d. Lakes: At Midlane Golf Resort, Adam Baker was the medalist with a 39, as the Knights (170) prevailed by 4 strokes in the Northern Lake County match.

Alex Wrobel added a 43, and Lane Getka and Joey McHugh each had a 44 for Grayslake North, which improved to 5-5.

Lakes, which shot a 174 and fell to 6-4, was led by Adam Nuxoll's 41.
