Warrant issued in Lindenhurst armed robbery

Lindenhurst police have obtained an arrest warrant for Daniel J. O'Brien, 30, no known address, for a convenience store armed robbery Nov. 27. Investigators said O'Brien entered the 7-Eleven at 2144 E. Sand Lake Road and brandished a firearm. O'Brien was also wearing a mask and demanded money and cigarettes, police said.

Because of the number of similar armed robberies in Lake County, a temporary task force was developed to address the countywide crimes and several suspects were identified and taken into custody, police said.

O'Brien is in custody in Cook County on an outstanding warrant and will be transported to Lake County for a bond hearing in coming days. The armed robbery arrest warrant (Class X Felony) carries a bond of $750,000, according to police.
