Report of aggravated battery, stolen vehicle in Elgin draws large police response

Elgin police are responding to reports of an aggravated battery and stolen vehicle, authorities say.

The response is causing a large presence of police officers in the area of Lillian Street and McLean Boulevard, according to a Facebook post about 4 p.m.

Police said there was no threat to the public. The major investigation division is at the scene, police said.
