Advocate Sherman hosts Indoor Farmers Market Nov. 10

Advocate Sherman Hospital will host a monthly Indoor Farmers Market every second Thursday of the month. It will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 10 at the hospital's lake level, 1425 N. Randall Road, Elgin.

Organized by the Downtown Neighborhood Association's Downtown Elgin Harvest Market and Shared Harvest: Elgin Food Cooperative, there will be vendors onsite with local produce, meat, baked goods and other locally grown and produced items. In addition to shopping at the farmer's market, the hospital will provide various information for healthy living and screenings.

Advocate Sherman Hospital received a Sodium Reduction Initiative grant from the Kane County Health Department for various sodium reducing projects, including funding the indoor market.

For the following months the indoor farmers market will be open on the second Thursday of every month: Dec. 8, Jan. 12, Feb. 9, and March 9, 2017.
