Lake County sheriff's officials tout gang task force results

Lake County sheriff's police officials have announced results from what they say was a successful 2016 for a special gang task force. Authorities said the task force arrested several gang members and seized a significant amount of drugs and guns. The haul included 34 kilograms of powder cocaine with a $3.4 million street value, 37 firearms, 9,314 grams of marijuana with a street value of $186,200, and 1,458 grams of heroin valued at $175,000. The areas of enforcement include, but are not limited to, narcotics, human trafficking, gun trafficking and money laundering.
