Lake County hosts Dec. 1 event to mark World AIDS Day

The Lake County Health Department will host a free event Wednesday, Dec. 1, to commemorate World AIDS Day.

"Ending the HIV/AIDS Epidemic: Equitable Access, Everyone's Voice"will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the health department, 3010 Grand Ave. in Waukegan.

The event will feature a candle-lighting ceremony, art exhibits and more. Attendees will learn about the Illinois Getting to Zero initiative, which aims to see zero new HIV infections in the state and zero people living with HIV and not in treatment by 2030.
