Baseball: Hampshire tops McHenry

Hampshire scored an unearned run in the top of the eighth inning to win a Fox Valley Conference crossover baseball game 7-6 over McHenry on Friday.

Noah Schrader, who scored the game-winning run, led the Whip-Purs' offense going 3-for-5 with a double. Jacob Manning added 2 hits with a double and an RBI, Carter Lawler drove in a run, Kyle Homa had 2 hits and Matthew Wians 2 RBI.

Bryan Diete picked up the win in relief for the Whips (5-4) and Tyler Petry earned the save.
