She Rides Tigers' 'Scars' release

West suburban rock band She Rides Tigers - with Joe O'Leary, James Scott and Ryan Birkett - is prepped and ready to drop a new set of songs. And if the already-released single "Scars of Allegory" is any indication, this hard-rocking trio will deliver a banging show at Reggies this weekend. ("Perfect Crime" checks off all the boxes a rock song should, but keep an ear out for "Take A Bow," a piece that dips its toe into psych-rock before diving in headfirst.) Join the release celebration along with Dangerous Chairs, This Pine Box and Farewell Captain. 7 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at Reggies, 2105 S. State St., Chicago. $8-$10. Badflower at BaseCamp

Badflower is the new face of modern rock: one foot in huge, hard-driving sound while also dipping a toe in deliciously tortured, emotional pop. The lead single, "Ghost," nearly hit the peak position atop the rock charts, with follow-up "Heroin" chasing close behind, earning the band a nomination for iHeart Radio's Best New Rock/Alternative Artist. Badflower is out on a national tour promoting the recent release of its first full-length studio album, "OK, I'M SICK," with a stop at Lisle's BaseCamp. The free show, sponsored in part by WKQX 101.1-FM, also features New Jersey's Deal Casino and Cali garage-rockers Fencer. 8 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at BaseCamp Pub, 5750 Lakeside Drive, Lisle. Catch the legendary writer of "Wichita Lineman," "Galveston," "The Highwayman," "MacArthur Park" and more when he brings the hits to the Woodstock Opera house this weekend. 8 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at Woodstock Opera House, 121 Van Buren St., Woodstock. $46. Oak Park Festival artistic associate Bryan Wakefield directs.

The show opens at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at Open Door Theater, 902 Ridgeland, Oak Park, with a show at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 28. Runs through May 26. $15-$35. oakparkfestival.com.

AM Taxi on vinyl
