Woman stabbed in Deerfield domestic dispute

Police are investigating the stabbing of a 53-year-old woman Friday afternoon in Deerfield.

According to the Lake County Major Crime Task Force, Deerfield police were called about 3:40 p.m. to a domestic dispute at a home on the 1000 block of Peachtree Lane.

They found the woman suffering from stab wounds. She was taken to a hospital, where she remains with significant injuries.

Task force officials said a preliminary investigation indicates the incident involved the woman and a family member.

Deerfield police and the task force continue to investigate the stabbing, which they say is isolated and does not pose a threat to the community.
