St. Alphonsus sets pickup of items for fire victims

St. Alphonsus Liguori Church in Prospect Heights has set times through Thursday, Aug. 9, for people displaced by last month's fire at the River Trails Condominiums in Prospect Heights to pick up donated items.

The hours are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Items are at the south end of the campus, in the dining hall, at 411 N. Wheeling Road. As of Friday, there were thousands of pieces of clothing sorted by size, hundreds of pairs of shoes, and boxes of food and toiletries. All the remaining donated food at Ruffalo's grocery store has been moved to St. Alphonsus.

Volunteers are needed to help distribute goods. Sign up at saintalphonsus.org. Service hours are available.
