Townhouse development approved in Mundelein

A developer's plan to build 182 townhouses on Mundelein's northwest side was approved by the village board Monday.

The proposed Crossings of Mundelein development will be built on Route 83 north of Route 60, behind the Mundelein Crossing shopping center.

The homes will occupy 40 acres there, according to documents. An outfit called the CalAtlantic Group owns the land and is behind the proposal.
