Council on Aging offers free tax preparation

Qualifying persons ages 55 and older or disabled individuals of any age are invited to schedule an appointment at the Barrington Area Council on Aging, 6000 Garlands Lane, Suite 100, Barrington, for free income tax assistance.

Persons qualify if their income is under $70,000 and they have no trusts. Businesses are ineligible.

BACOA has partnered with AARP to provide the free service and will file taxes electronically.

Assistance is by appointment only and will run from Thursday, Feb. 4, through Wednesday, April 13. Those interested can call (847) 381-5030. Visit www.bacoa.org for a list of materials to bring to the appointment.
