MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Timberwolves' No. 1 draft pick Karl-Anthony Towns is the Western Conference Rookie of the Month for the third straight month.

Towns won the honor for January on Tuesday. He also was the conference's Rookie of the Month for November and December.

Towns led all qualified rookies in January in rebounding (10.9 rebounds per game), blocked shots (1.63 blocked shots per game) and free-throw percentage, with 87.2 percent. He was second in minutes played, with 31.2 minutes per game, and third in scoring (16.9 points per game) and field goal percentage (53.5 percent).

Towns is the second player in Timberwolves history to win Rookie of the Month honors in three consecutive months. Andrew Wiggins won that honor four months in a row, from November 2014 through February 2015.
