History and the MAGA hat

Regarding the letter of Feb. 3 with the exhortation to wear MAGA hats with pride: The MAGA hat will be remembered as a sad time in our country's history, as a symbol of hatred, prejudice, oppression, division, sexism, and ultimately un-American values. The MAGA hat will be remembered for alienating allies and getting cozy with tyrants for the sake of the president's investments. The MAGA hat will represent the time when a man rose to the highest office of the land after declaring he could abuse women. History will recognize the MAGA hat as a symbol just like the Confederate flag, the white hood, blackface and the swastika.
