Softball: Foote's long flies lift Lakes

Winning pitcher Kayla Foote helped her own cause with 2 home runs that drove in 3 runs as Lakes' softball team topped Grant 8-2 in Northern Lake County Conference play Monday.

Foote went the distance and had 2 strikeouts to no walks.

Rachel Becker, Molly Dietz, Camryn Jones and Georgia Ohren each had 2 hits for the Eagles and Jones drove in 3 runs.

Erin Bengston and Ivy Clark each had 2 hits for Grant.

Dundee-Crown 2, Grayslake Central 0: Dundee-Crown scored both of its runs in the first inning.

Grayslake Central had just 1 hit, by Brooke Heraty.
