Palatine man charged with meth possession

A 28-year-old Palatine man faces drug charges after police found meth hidden in a corn chip bag during a traffic stop.

Antonio Celedon was ordered held on a total of $65,000 bail Thursday on charges of methamphetamine possession with intent to distribute.

At the time of his arrest, Celedon was on bail for driving on a suspended or revoked driver's license, said Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Alyssa Grissom.

A police officer, who knew Celedon's license had been revoked, noticed him driving about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday on the 1500 block of Rand Road and pulled him over. After a police dog indicated the presence of drugs in the vehicle, officers recovered a clear plastic bag containing 28 grams methamphetamine inside a corn chip bag, Grissom said.

Celedon told police he intended to sell the drugs for $1,300, she said.

Celedon next appears in court on April 7.
